10:00am to 4:00pm. Registration begins at 10am. Vendor area opens at 10am. Beggin’ Alley Activities begin at 12noon. Parade begins at 1:00pm. Grab your furry friends and join the Krewe of Barkus for the world’s largest costumed pet parade – the 25th Beggin’ Pet Parade! Watch or join in on February 4th as thousands of festively costumed animal friends strut their stuff through Soulard in style. Featuring live musical entertainment! Registration: To walk in the parade, you must register your pets beforehand via the online registration form, or, on the day of the event at 10:00am on the corner of 12th and Allen. They kindly ask for a $10 registration donation. All proceeds benefit Open Door Animal Sanctuary. Online pre-registration will open soon!

Time & Location: The parade steps off at 1:00 pm at 12th and Allen.
Crowning the King and Queen of Barkus: Pets deemed best dressed are selected as members of the Court of the Mystical Krewe of Barkus. These lucky pets are invited to the Coronation Pageant in Soulard Market Plaza (8th & Lafayette) where the King and Queen of Barkus are crowned.
Free Concert: The party continues after Coronation with a free concert in the Soulard Market Plaza!!!

The colors of Mardi Gras are Green, Gold, and Purple.  Green represents Faith.  Gold represents Power.  Purple represents Justice.  Most people and pets dress in Mardi Gras colors and beads.  Some people wear costumes and/or boas and/or Mardi Gras attire.
