Judi said: I could sure use some help - has anyone within the last few days spotted a good place to buy a kiddie pool (the hard plastic kind)....I have never bought a kiddie pool before and am lost on where to go. I want to buy a pool for Willow. Been to Walmart and Target...a bust. Walmart's pool was very light plastic, not very durable....Target had a blow up which I bought but returning cause you need a pump to blow it up - and I think Willow would puncture the soft plastic. Thanks all for tips...please let me know if you have recently spotted a supply of kiddie pools. It's soooo hot - all we want to do is sit in water or sleep in the a/c.
Judi said: a big THANK YOU for the offer of your kiddie pool. After 3 people recommended ACE Hardware - I scooted over there today and got a 48 inch blue pool for Willow - so we are set up fine for the rest of the summer. If this hadn't worked out - I might have been on your door step. LOL :)
Mandy said: I BUY KIDDIE SAND BOXES, THEY ARE STURDIER. TOYS R US. I WENT THRU TOO MANY "KIDDIE POOLS" AS THEY ARE THIN AND FLIMSY. POPPY LIKES TO SCRATCH THE BOTTOM AND SO FAR THE SAND BOX HAS HELD UP REALLY WELL!
Judi said: Mandy. The sand box idea is intriguing. Are boxes made of plastic? Apprx how large? At our dog park, we have 3 donated kiddie pools, and all have multiple holes in them, so we duct taped, but it doesn't last long. Still got a ways to go with the heat and wondering what to do. I'm just wondering if the sand boxes are easy enough to dump the water - or are they heaviver (or hold more water) than the usual plastic pools. We too have 4 Leggeds who like to scratch the bottom of pool. But our greatest amount of holes are along the base where it curves up - I think with the constant dumping and refilling, the weight of water eventually cracks the pool. Searching for solutions. Thanks!
Step2 round wading pool with umbrella --link (doesn't take up a lot of space)
Step2 rectangle sandbox with lid --link (holds more water. can cover with lid)
