BaratHaven Trail, part of the River Ring system in development throughout St. Louis, is part of an 85-acre park and follows the Dardenne Greenway. Traveling along the trail, visitors see a 15-acre stocked lake with overlooks, scenic views along Dardenne Creek, and forested areas with picnic tables and benches.
A unique feature of the park trail is the "oxbow," an ecological oasis with abundant natural wetland vegetation that filters storm water from the surrounding land before reaching Dardenne Creek. Native wildlife frequents the area, which also serves as a perfect habitat for native plants and flowers.
Located in Dardenne Prairie, St. Charles County, off Highway 40 just west of Weldon Springs Road. A public trailhead with parking is located at Henning Road and BaratHaven Boulevard.
Trail is 3 miles, asphalt concrete for biking, walking and running. Parking is available. No restrooms.
