PoV explained

Each dog that attends an event that requires PoV (proof of vaccination) must be 100% up-to-date on Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella as mandated by health inspection standards.

PoV (proof of vaccination) may be part of any event sponsored by Saint Louis All Dogs. Some PoV events are held at dog venues with indoor playrooms, such as dog boarding facilities. Sometimes we rent a room in a local community center that allow dogs inside their building. Occasionally we use fenced outdoor spaces such as dog parks. Dog trainers, using a facility, will require proof that their student dogs are up-to-date on their vaccinations.

Rental venues do not want to risk infecting their building or spreading dog illnesses to their clients. So each rental venue requires proof of current vaccination for each dog attending. Standard vaccinations asked for are, Bordetella, Distemper and Rabies. On occasion a new vaccination may be required.

We pre-screen our dog members, reviewing each dog signed up, to make sure each one is up-to-date on their vaccinations. Prior to an event, we print a list of attending dogs and their vaccination dates. This list is given to the rental venue.

Business owners and managers are pleased to hear that we pre-screen, pre-register and have attendees sign-in on a customized waiver. We tell them that our members share in the responsibility of managing the dogs and each other.
